Bar Troy – An Amalgamation of Italian and American Style
Italian and American food, spirits, culture, style, and language, blended to perfection.
Bar Troy, located at 121 Fourth Street in historic downtown Troy, was conceived by Troy’s own Elda Abate.
Elda’s parents came to the United States in the mid-1970s from Naples, Italy. Together they built, from the ground up, multiple successful businesses in the hospitality industry, including bars, restaurants, and hotels, all located in New York State’s Capital Region. Elda was born in the United States and worked in her parents’ establishments. Growing up in the hospitality industry, Elda benefited from her parents’ knowledge about the business. Her multi-cultural background and heritage gives her a unique style and perspective. Additionally, Elda has a wealth of experience consulting and managing a variety of establishments throughout the United States. She has worked with bar owners in Miami, South Beach, Los Angeles, New York City, and throughout Upstate New York to help achieve their goals.
Bar Troy is a reflection of Elda herself—a strong authentic Italian influence mixed with American culture. The interior décor shares this blend, with references made also to Troy and the Capital District. Elda selected the name Bar Troy, borrowing from the Italian tradition of naming a bar after the place it is located, in this case the historic city of Troy, New York.
Bar Troy proudly features a diverse selection of Elda’s favorite Italian and American cuisine, including many of the foods Elda and her family enjoy while celebrating Italian and American holidays and special events. A variety of fine Italian wines and liqueurs, and also espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes and other specialty coffees are all available at Bar Troy as well.
